Sooo remember that FB Live I did a few days ago? Yup, the random Live that popped up on your timeline after months of stillness. Yea, that one! As promised I'm sharing the RAW journal entry from the writing prompt exercise I did in my latest writing class. This journal entry ended up being exactly what I needed. The reminder to be honest, gentle and forgiving to myself. To pause and hold on to all of the moments I am experiencing with myself and daughter.

Journal Entry:
Where I am now or where I’m trying to be is in a space of re-creating myself. My old identity is now packed away in one of my many storage boxes of life and it's now time to move in and embrace the new me. My new identity as a mom where self-care and purpose is just as important as being Lily's Mommy. So what does that look like? Not emptying my cup to fall into JUST the role of a Mommy but balancing it out so I don't loose sight of who I am. Recently that's been, bottles or should I say boobs and books, diapers and dining, rocking and writing. We some times dance around while Anita Baker is playing or just vibing to Jay Z as she slowly falls to sleep.
My biggest challenge right now is re-creating myself and filling my own cup. With the creation of new life is the rebirth of self. Its change- development- MOVEMENT as I try to just move with the water while nurturing and learning my Pisces baby. Rolling with the tide not fighting against it, embracing that some days my hair won’t get done but realizing the importance of making sure it’s healthy and moisturized (nurtured). Knowing the importance of slow healing as I embrace my mommy body (grace). Finding 10 minutes of quiet time here and there to speak to God, jot down a thought, have a glass of wine or a chat with a girlfriend (sanity). Learning to intentionally nurture myself, baby and family keeps balance on my mind as I’m re-creating me and learning to move with the most beautiful body of water (life).
Hvar (island), Croatia...
This was one of my favorite travel adventures thus far. Croatia is BEAUTIFUL, from the coble stone roads, to the water taxi traffic to the majestic blue bodies of water. I shared this picture in black and white so there is no distraction of color in understanding the movement of water.
Waves: friction between the wind and surface water, the constant transfer of energy creates the friction needed to create a wave = MOVEMENT
